12 medals for the Deree Swim Academy at the “7th Panathinaikos Trophy” in O.A.K.A.!

The “7th Panathinaikos Trophy”, held at Olympic Stadium of Athens was successfully completed during the weekend Nov.30-Dec.1.

The competition hosted approximately 1300 men and women athletes. The Deree Swim Academy participated with 21 athletes, who improved their individual records and won a total of 12 medals.

Specifically:

Gold 

  • Nikolas Georgiadis  (free style 400m., 200m.)
  • Nikolas Rantzos   (breast stroke 200m.)

Silver 

  • Konstantina Kapetanea (back stroke 200m.)
  • Nikolas Georgiadis (butterfly stroke 100m.)
  • Anastasi – Zoe Papafili  (breast stroke 100m.)

Bronze 

  • Eleni Zafeiropoulou (free style 800m.)
  • Anastasi – Zoe Papafili  (breast stroke 50m.)
  • Giorgos Bergin (butterfly stroke 100m.)
  • Ioanna Bourika (back stroke 100m.)
  • Emmanuel Iliopoulos (back stroke 100m.)
  • Lydia Karavokyrou  (butterfly stroke 50m.)

Athletes from the Deree Tennis Academy compete for the 1st and 2nd place in the “Masters 2024”.

Two athletes from the Deree Tennis Academy, Dionysis Kontogiorgis and Nikolas Daskos, are delivering excellent performances at the “Masters 2024” in the U12 category, featuring the top 8 players in the national rankings for 2024.

This is arguably the most important tournament for Junior athletes, held at the Athens Tennis Club on November 15-19.

Dionysis Kontogiorgis secured 3 out of 3 wins, finishing 1st in his group, while Nikolas Daskos achieved 2 out of 3 wins and also topped his group.

Our athletes are competing against each other today for the 1st and 2nd place in this year’s Masters.

Congratulations to both of our athletes — you are both winners!

Results of the E1 tennis tournament in Peristeri and Petroupoli for the Deree Tennis Academy.

With a great success participated the Deree Tennis Academy at the E1 tennis tournament, held from November 8-12 in Peristeri and Petroupoli.

Specifically, at the E1 tournament in Peristeri:

  • Elli Gerontikou and Elena Dapsi secured the 3rd place in the U18 singles category, both competing in a higher age group.
  • Anastasia Bambaroutsi achieved the 2nd place in the U16 doubles category.
  • Nikolas Daskos claimed the 3rd place in the U12 singles category.
  • Spyros Chatzispyros also took the 3rd place in the U12 doubles category.

Participation of the Deree Swim Academy in the “Winter Swim Meet in a 50m Pool”, held at OAKA on Nov. 23-24.

The Deree Swim Academy participated in the “Winter Swim Meet in a 50m Pool,” which took place over last weekend, on November 23–24 at OAKA, with 23 athletes. There were no awards or rankings by category, as these were performance-based races.

The delegation was accompanied by the head coach Antonis Antoniou and coaches Vasilis Demetis and Giannis Syrbopoulos.

The Deree Basketball Academy is organizing the “DBA 2025 Easter Camp” on April 22-25 for boys and girls aged 8-18 from across Greece, featuring the renowned coach Rick Boyages, known for his expertise in American collegiate basketball!

Participants will also have the opportunity to enhance their shooting, ball-handling, and overall skills with the Dr. Dish CT+, the complete training solution with exclusive and upgraded features!

Deree Tennis Academy athlete and Pierce student Yiannis Sakkas, earns an athletic scholarship from Binghamton University!

Yiannis Sakkas, Deree Tennis Academy athlete and Pierce scholarship student, has been accepted to Binghamton University, USA with a tennis athletic scholarship.
Binghamton University is ranked among the prestigious Public Ivies and competes athletically in Division I of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).
Yiannis will have the opportunity to study at one of the top academic universities while continuing to play tennis at a very high level.

Yiannis joined the Deree Tennis Academy in 2019, the same year he began attending Pierce as a 7th-grade student on a tennis scholarship.
It is worth noting that he is the second athlete from the Deree Tennis Academy to secure an athletic scholarship to a U.S. university, following Theodoros Mitsakos.

Congratulations, Yiannis—wishing you success in your studies and all the best in your new competitive challenges!

The DCAC welcomes a new era; the “DCAC App” is now available for our members!

The DCAC App aims to improve communication, service, and information for all members regarding the programs and services offered.

It is constantly growing and evolving, aiming to consistently deliver a high-quality experience and exceed our members’ expectations.

The app is tailor-made and can be easily and quickly installed on a desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, and tablet.

The application for now is available only to the ACG Fitness members, but within the next several weeks will be also available to the Deree Sports Academy members.

National Records for the Deree Swim Academy at the “2nd Swim Meet in a 25m Pool”, in Chalandri.

The Deree Swim Academy participated in the “2nd Swim Meet in a 25m Pool” with a total of 68 athletes, that held at the Municipal Swimming Pool “N. Perkizas”, in Chalandri, on November 2-3, with our athletes delivering exceptional performances.

Marios Vlachakis and Konstantinos Geramanis, set national records; Marios achieved a record in the 200m butterfly with a time of 2:03.68, and Konstantinos set a record in the 400m freestyle with a time of 3:51.44.

The team was accompanied by the Deree Swim Academy’s head coach, Mr. Antonis Antoniou, along with Mr. Vasilis Demetis and Mr. Yiannis Syrbopoulos.

Significant Distinctions for the Deree Swim Academy at the World School Championship, in Bahrain!

The participation of three Deree Swim Academy champions, concluded successfully at the World School Championship, held in Bahrain on October 23-31.

Greece’s involvement in the event was supported by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports.
