Good performances for the Deree Tennis Academy athletes in the ” U16 Tennis Europe International Tournament”!

Marily Iliopoulou, Giannis Sakkas (who is a Pierce student on an athletic scholarship) and George Tzitzimikas had a successful participation in the “U16 Tennis Europe International Tournament” held May 2-8 in Tirana, Albania.

Giannis Sakkas and Giorgos Tzitzimikas played together in the doubles and won the 3rd place, while Marily Iliopoulou with her teammate, Irini Tsakiri from Lesvos, reached the quarterfinals.

Marily Iliopoulou and Giannis Sakkas reached also the 2nd round of the singles.

Congratulations to all athletes for their effort and excellent behavior on and off the courts!

Very good performances for the Deree Tennis Academy in the E3 U14 Tournament.

Very good performances from our athletes in the E3 U14 Tennis Tournament, held at the Marathon Country Tennis Club on April 1-4.

Melina Papageorgiou won the 1st place, after winning four matches, and a very difficult final which lasted for 3 hours and 45 minutes!

Efthalia Andrianou won the 3rd place, Elli Gerontikou reached the quarterfinals, and Andreas Iatropoulos managed to reach the last-16.

Congratulations to all athletes for their effort and exceptional behavior!

Excellent performance for the Deree Tennis Academy in the “E2 Panhellenic Tennis Tournament” in Lamia.

The Deree Tennis Academy had a successful participation with 16 athletes in the “E2 Panhellenic Tennis Tournament”, held in Lamia on February 18-22.

Paris Passas won the 3rd place in the Boys-14 singles, and – with his teammate Nikolas Zachos – the 1st place in the doubles.

Giannis Sakkas (Pierce student on an athletic scholarship) in Boys-16, and Isabella Demico in Girls-16 reached the quarterfinals.

Orestis Oreopoulos in Boys-14, Pelagia Sarri and Elli Gerontikou in Girls-14, won the 3rd place in the doubles; George Tzitzimikas and Giannis Sakkas won the 3rd place in the Boys-16 doubles.

The Deree Tennis Academy won the 2nd and the 3rd place in the “U16 E3 Tennis Clubs Association Tournament”!

The Deree Tennis Academy had a very good performance in the “U16 E3 Tennis Clubs Association Tournament”, held in Marathon on February 11-14.

Giannis Sakkas, Pierce student on an athletic scholarship, won the 2nd place, by wining 4 matches until the final, while Paris Passas won the 3rd place, by winning 3 matches until the semi-final.

Our two athletes met in the semi-final, where Giannis Sakkas was the winner after an excellent game played by both athletes!

An amazing experience for Thodoris Mitsakos his participation in the “ITF Australian Open Junior Championship 2022”!

Thodoris Mitsakos, Pierce student on an athletic scholarship, enjoyed an amazing experience from his trip to Australia and his participation in the “ITF Australian Open Junior Championship 2022”, in Melbourne, and in the “ITF J1 Traralgon” in Traralgon!.

Thodoris competed in the Australian Open qualifiers, won the first round, but lost the last, just before his entrance in the tournament’s bracket.

Over the last two weeks, our athlete had the opportunity to train and compete with the best junior tennis players in the world!

Congratulations to Thodoris for this major achievement, and to the Deree Tennis Academy Head Coach, George Karagiannis, who was with our athlete in Australia!

Theodoris Mitsakos received an invitation to participate in the ITF Australian Open Junior Championships!

Huge success for the Deree Tennis Academy and Theodoris Mitsakos, who became just the fourth Greek U18 tennis player to receive an invitation to participate in the ITF Australian Open Junior Championships to be held January 22-29, in Melbourne, Victoria, Austarlia !

Theodoris – a student at Pierce with an athletic scholarship in tennis – received this very honorable invitation for him and the program, after his excellent performances during the last several years.

Theodoris will also participate in the ITF J1 TRARALGON – AGL Loy Yang Traralgon Junior International that will take place January 14-19, in Traralgon, Victoria, Australia.

These prestigious, world-class tennis tournaments are in the context of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, which gives players aged 18 and under the opportunity to travel the world and develop their talent. The ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors provides a launch pad for the best players to go on and achieve success in the professional game.

Theodoris will depart from Greece on Sunday, January 9, together with the head coach of the Deree Tennis Academy, George Karagiannis, after they complete all necessary paperwork and Covid-related medical protocol.

The Deree Tennis Academy promoted in the “Men’s Tennis A’ National Category”!

The Deree Tennis Academy won the 1st place in the “Men’s Tennis B’ National Category Championship”, held in Rafina on December 17-20 and was promoted to the A’ National Category, by achieving 4 victories in a row!

Our team played against and won O.A. Chalkida 3-0, ASE Thiseas Ag. Dimitriou 2-1, O.A. Xylokastro 3-0, and O.A. Patra 3-0!

Congratulations to our athletes Thodoris Mitsakos (Pierce student on an athletic scholarship), Giannis Sakkas (Pierce student on an athletic scholarship), George Tzitzimikas, Dimitris Goutas and to their coaches, who led the Deree Tennis Academy to this great success, which was the result of their hard work during the last several years!
