Excellent performances were made by the athletes of the Deree Tennis Academy, who participated in the E2 Pan-Hellenic tennis tournaments held in Naxos, Drama, and Chania, on September 16-19.

Anastasia Babaroutsi won the 1^st place in singles in Naxos, while Melina Papageorgiou won the 1^st place in doubles and the 2^nd place in singles in Drama, both in the G14 category. Ilida Stylianou won the 3^rd place in singles in the G12 category, while Chris Papachristou won the 3^rd place in the B14 category.

Five athletes took also part in the ITF International tournament in Mytilene on September 19-24 and had the opportunity to compete in high-level matches, gaining experience for their future tournaments.

Very good performances by the Deree Tennis Academy U14 athletes at the E3 Open tournament, held in Rafina on September 9-12.

Paris Passas won the 1^st place in the boys category with 4 victories, and Melina Papageorgiou won the 2^nd place in the girls category, achieving 4 victories until the final game.

Our tennis academy head coach George Karagiannis and tennis athlete Thodoris Mitsakos traveled with the Greek National team to Rome in order to participate in the Valerie Galea U18 Cup.

In the tournament held July 27-29, Greece is in the zone-B’ with France, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria, and Israel.

The Deree Tennis Academy performed very well at the “E2 Pan-Hellenic tennis tournament” held on July 14-17 in Athens and Lamia.

Paris Passas won the 1^st place in doubles in U14 Boys with Nikolaos Zachos, and Ethalia Andrianou and Melina Papageorgiou the 2^nd place in doubles in U14 Girls.

In singles, Ethalia Andrianou reached the semi-final and won the 3^rd place in U14 Girls, while Paris Passas in U14 Boys, Melina Papageorgiou and Dianna Svintsitska in U14 Girls reached the final-8 in singles, and Ilida Stylianou reached the final-8 in U12 Girls.

The Deree Tennis Academy athletes performed very well at the “U16 E3 Open Tennis Tournament” held in Kefalonia on July 8-10.

Marily Iliopoulou won the 1^st place in U16 girls, and Alexandros Verykokos the 2^nd place in U16 boys.

Congratulations to both athletes for their effort and excellent behavior on and off the courts!

Our tennis athlete Thanasis Kostikas was accepted with an academic scholarship to Bard College located in the state of New York (https://www.bard.edu/)!

Thanasis was a member of our program since he was eight years old, and has been a member of our competition team for 9 years now, managing to perfectly combine high academic and athletic performance! Now he will be able to continue doing so in the United States, as he was also selected to join the College tennis team!

Congratulations Thanasis, your coaches and the club are proud of you and we will be happy to see you accomplishing great things!

Theodoris Mitsakos was accepted at the University at Buffalo on a tennis athletic scholarship!

University at Buffalo is an NCAA Division 1 institution offering also an excellent academic program, which will give Thodoris the opportunity to perfectly combine his studies with sports and tennis!
Thodoris joined the Deree Tennis Academy and began attending Pierce College from grade 7, on an athletic scholarship in tennis six years ago.
His daily hard effort, excellent character and his dedication to his student obligations led him to many successes over the years;  he won the Panhellenic junior championship 5 times in a row, won many titles in international competitions, reached the 124th place in the world ranking, and he received an invitation and traveled to Melbourne to participate in the Australian Open Junior Championship 2022!

Congratulations Thodoris, we wish you every success in your new academic and athletic environment. Your teachers and coaches are proud of you and we will be happy to see you accomplishing great things!

The Deree Tennis Academy athletes had a very successful participation at the Ten Pro Global Junior Tour international tournament held at the Kim Clijsters Academy in Belgium June 20-26. 13 athletes of our team took part in the tournament, and achieved a total of 58 wins!
Giannis Sakkas won the 1st place in the U16 category and the 2nd place in the U15 category, Elli Gerontikou the 1st place in the U14 category, Eugenia Kakari the 2nd place in the U16 category and the 3rd place in the U15 category, Marily Iliopoulou the 3rd place in the U16 category, and Valia Volonaki the 3rd place in the U13 category.

The 2021-22 Deree Tennis Academy ladder internal tournament was concluded on June 5 with the final played during the “Orange & Yellow” internal tournament.

The ladder tournament started October 1, 2021 with the participation of 48 players, and more of 100 matches were played!

The first eight players advanced to the knock-out phase, and the final ranking is:

1^st place: Dimitris Goutas,

2^nd place: Yannis Sakkas,

3^rd place: Giorgos Tzitzimikas,

3^rd place: Paris Passas,

5^th place: Orestis Oreopoulos,

6^th place: Andreas Iatropoulos,

7^th place: Melina Papageorgiou,

8^th place: Marili Iliopoulou.

The final match between Dimitris Goutas and Yannis Sakkas lasted for two hours, and the younger athletes of the Deree Tennis Academy had the opportunity to experience and enjoy high quality tennis!

The “Orange and Yellow Ball” internal tournament was successfully organized on Sunday, June 5, in which fifty athletes of the Deree Tennis Academy enjoyed a fun competition with their teammates.
