National Winter Swimming Championship 2023 – Very successful participation for the Deree Swim Academy!

The winter swimming championships have been completed with the participation of our swimmers in the Men's-Women's National Swimming Winter Championship, held at the "Dimosthenis Michalentzakis" Municipal swimming pool in Alexandroupolis.

The Deree Swim Academy team, consisting mainly of younger male and female swimmers, had an impressive participation with 5 appearances in finals and 22 in consolation finals in individual events, and 4 in relays being among the eight best teams in Greece!

The following swimmers made it to the final:

• Rota Stella - 400m freestyle (7th)

• Ioanna Pazaiti - 200m backstroke (6th)

• Zarbouti Theodora - 100m breaststroke (7th) and 200m breaststroke (7th)

• Zarbouti Areti - 200m breaststroke (4th)

In team events:

• 4x100 women's freestyle (Mitsakou, Kalabaliki, Exarchou, Ferra) 4th place

• 4x200 women's freestyle (Mitsakou, Rota, Ferra, Sotiriou) 4th place

• 4x100 women's  medley (Pazaiti, Zarbutis A. Rota, Kalambaliki) 8th place

• 4x100 mixed (Kakaboura, Zarbuti Th. Zografakis, Patsoureas) 8th place

In total, our team had a very successful and encouraging participation at both the Age Groups Winter National Swimming championships by winning 3 trophies, and in the OPEN category with all our swimmers giving their best!
