Congratulations to Evelyn Mitropoulou and Filippos Georgantas for your participation with the National team in the U18 European Championship!

With the participation of a male and a female athlete from the Deree Track & Field Academy, the 4th European U18 Championship, held in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, from July 18-21, has concluded.

Our athlete, Filippos Georgantas, competed in the 100m preliminary round with a time of 10.92, close to his personal best of 10.87. However, he narrowly missed qualifying for the semifinals and finished 27th overall. Filippos also participated as the first runner in the mixed relay team (100-200-300-400m) with the National Team, alongside Lazakis, Krizeas, and Katselis, achieving a time of 1:56.27 and securing 12th place in a commendable effort.

Additionally, Evelin Mitropoulou competed in the long jump during the Saturday morning preliminary round, chasing a spot in the final until the last jump. Unfortunately, she couldn’t achieve a performance that would have advanced her to the final. Evelin started with a jump of 5.65m, continued with 5.67m, and finished with 5.72m, securing the 16th position and showing great promise for the next year.

Congratulations to the athletes and their coaches!
